My name is Anne Macdonald and I live in the lovely and challenging Shetland Islands. I say challenging as our weather is quite inclement for about nine months of the year so I have to engage in genres of photography other than landscapes. I have to say the weather is about the only downside to living in Shetland as the landscape is rugged and unequalled anywhere else. I took up photography in October of 2010 as a retirement hobby hoping it would encourage me outdoors for fresh air and exercise. Well, it did more than that, as I am now addicted to taking photos. The only thing that suffers through my addiction is the housework and I'm not losing any sleep over that.
