My journey into the world of photography started in the year 2010. I had just completed my first year of B.A. Media Studies & Journalism, when I realized that it wouldn’t be a great fit. So I switched to N.Dip. Photography - An extensive 3 year course that would teach me everything from developing film and enlargements in the darkroom to advanced digital photography and manipulation. To be completely honest, up until that point I had never really considered a career in photography, but a couple of weeks into the first semester I was already hooked on my hands smelling of developing chemicals & the sight of an image magically appearing under the low, red light. It was literally love at first sight & I soon started realizing that this act of creating would someday consume my entire world. Upon graduating in 2013, my partner and I (who since got hitched!) moved to Cape Town in pursuit of our respective careers. I have been shooting ever since, getting especially excited about a job when it is something I have never done before! Nerves are a real thing though & I do not think the pre-shooting jitters will ever truly go away. I enjoy working with people in nature more that in a constraining studio space, probably due to the endless possibilities of what can be created. When shooting, I always aim to create an environment through the lens that will draw the viewer in from interesting angles - any subject can be interesting when viewed from the right angle. I am an artist. Photography is my medium. Light is my language.
