I am a Virginian photographer and a professional engineering geologist. My favorite genre is landscape photography but also enjoy other genres as well. I absolutely cannot resist a picturesque old barn (in a bit of rough shape which I see as simply being "at rest") and most certainly love lighthouses and the sea. My parallel passion for both geology and photography grew out of a love for the outdoors having grown up in the Pacific Northwest (USA) . My passion for photography was first sparked as a child when my father lent me his camera briefly during the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. Afterwards, when I saw a copy of the print of that image, I was hooked.
