Sandi Bertoncelj won our Summer Sun contest with this image. Here's the story behind the shot.
"It was an summer afternoon when I went with a friend on a cycling tour on the mountain Begunjščica (2060m) in the Karavanke Alps in Slovenia.
We planned to get to the peak of the mountain an hour before sunset, just in time to get the best photos. The sun was shining through the thin clouds and the light was awesome. I suggested that my friend ride down the trail on the ridge, where I took this panoramic/action shot. I wanted to capture the spirit of mountain biking, to show that it is a very alluring sport which takes place in a beautiful environment - in this case with breathtaking mountain scenery and the famous town of Bled in the background. Being able to capture some of these amazing experiences and share them with the world through photography makes them even more meaningful.
I did post processing in Lightroom including minor croping, white balance adjustments, exposure adjustments, sharpening, highlights, clarity and contrast.
EXIF data for the image: Camera Canon EOS 5d MkIII, lens Canon 16-35mm f4 L USM, focal length 22 mm, ISO 250, aperture f/13, shutterspeed 1/250)."
