Hi all, I'm originally from Wales but am now based in Australia having come here as a backpacker. (How original...) Anyway, I started taking photographs when I took my first trip alone overseas in 2011 to Chile and Argentina as a way to show my friends and family the places I had seen. I had a cheap point and shoot (that my sister later killed on a trip to Iceland when a rogue wave hit her on the beach, gah!) and had no idea about what I was doing. Some of my shots were much better than others and when asking myself why, I started to learn that lighting and composition where as important as the subject, sometimes even more so, and I started to regard photography as more than a way of just documenting the things I saw. Many years and cheap cameras later I finally have my DSLR, (still not a full frame but I love it to bits anyway!) and I have decided that some (of the thousands, but pretend I didn't say that) of my pictures are good enough to share with others.
