My name is Thomas Porter, Ph.D., a photographer & farmer living on a 200-acre farm named "Thimbleberry Farm" in Northern Virginia. Its name comes from the large harvest of thimbleberries -- The plant has large red leaves and no thorns. It bears edible red fruit similar in appearance to a raspberry but shorter, almost hemispherical. Also, extremely yummy. Small farmers drive our economy but are seldom featured in popular media. I've made it my mission, when not in studio, to prioritize shooting farms & nearby landscapes that hopefully inform & enrich our existence.
