I have been interested in photography for a lifetime. As an elementary school student, with the assistance of my dad, I won 1st prize in Physics at a Science fair for my project on a pinhole camera. We, my dad and I, built a camera and with the help of a local photographer, we were able to load it in his dark room and then when the film was exposed, we were able to develop it there. We compared the picture from the pinhole camera with one from a Kodak instamatic which I was using then. When I did my master’s in microbiology and Immunology, my thesis was on rods seen inside a bacterium, and distinguished them from phage tails in same bacterium. This involved a lot of electron microscopy and dark room work besides biochemical separation techniques. During this time, I also worked on lantern slides which produced better resolution than 35 mm slides for our purposes. It was a skill that endeared me to the director of a lab, in a future position. Over the years, I went from the Kodak to the 35 mm camera associated with the electron microscope to Ricoh 35 mm with longer lens 200mm with extenders. Then went to a Kodak digital, and on to the Nikon from a D50 to my current D7200. My wife and I loved to travel, so I have albums of pictures, long with tons of slides to sort through. My digital library is much better organised. My eagle picture and my sunset in the sand hills are two examples of pictures that I have sold. After 25 years in lab work, I picked up my 7200 and Tamron 150-200mm and started as a semi pro photographer. I did some work with group photography for a number of volunteer groups and businesses. I love landscape photography and am starting in nature photography on animals and birds. I hope you enjoy my collection shown here. I will slowly increase the size of my gallery.
