Nigel Atherton

Group editor – photography titles, Time Inc (UK)

Nigel studied photography at Plymouth College of Art & Design and the University of Westminster and worked as a professional photographer for over 10 years before joining Amateur Photographer magazine in 1994. He was appointed editor of What Digital Camera in 2002, and Group Editor of the IPC Media photography portfolio (including Amateur Photographer, What Digital Camera and Photo Technique) in 2013.

Tracy Calder

Technique Editor – Amateur Photographer magazine

Tracy has more than 15 years of experience in the photo magazine industry, including two as editor of Outdoor Photography magazine. She has written numerous photography books, including one on close-up and macro photography (her specialist subject). Tracy’s work has appeared in more than 20 consumer magazines, as well as on the walls of The Photographers’ Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery in London. She joined Amateur Photographer magazine as Technique Editor in September 2016.

Geoff Harris

Deputy Editor – Amateur Photographer magazine

Geoff is the Deputy Editor of AP and a veteran photography journalist with over 20 years magazine experience. He is the former editor of Digital Camera and PhotoPlus magazines, and is also a keen photographer in its own right. Geoff reached the finals of the 2016 Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year competition, and also runs a successful wedding and portrait photography business in his spare time.

Oliver Atwell

Senior Features Writer - Deputy Editor – Amateur Photographer magazine

Oliver joined AP in 2011 and is now the senior features writer, where he interviews a variety of photographers, both professional and amateur, as well as coordinates the Amateur Photographer of the Year competition and handles the book reviews and Reader Portfolio. He has written a variety of articles for publications and websites, including Photomonitor and Vice Magazine. Before joining AP he studied film, photography and journalism. He has also produced photographic work for various theatre companies, both in England and Wales. His work has been on show in Cardiff and London.

Rosie Barratt

Picture Researcher – Amateur Photographer magazine

Rosie has been looking after the picture desk at AP for 12 years, coordinating reader images, researching pictures for features and helping with the social media side/website of the things. Prior to working at AP she worked as a picture researcher for various book and magazine publishers, specialising in photography, travel and genealogy. Rosie studied at London Guildhall University, focusing on photography, glass, and oil painting.

Sarah Foster

Art Editor – Amateur Photographer magazine

Sarah went to college at Epsom School of Art and Design, before studying for a diploma and higher diploma in graphic design at East Ham technical college. She has worked on AP for four years, following positions at Kerrang, and various other international titles. Sarah is in charge of designing the front cover, and much of the inside of the magazine too.
