Davy Jones

Documentary and portrait photographer

Having studied physics then politics, Davy maintained alphabetical consistency by deciding to pursue a career in photography.

After nearly twenty years of professional practice he has built up a wide range of clients, shooting distinctive portraits and documentary-style images for names in the cultural, charity and commercial sectors as diverse as Unilever and Unicef.

Outside his commercial work, Davy works on long-term documentary projects that always keep an eye on authenticity. Their subjects range from the telling details of family life to portraits of people caught unawares in the tangled streetscape of the City of London.

Characterised by a blend of the candid and the oblique, Davy's pictures have won him critical attention: most recently he was nominated for a first-book award by Greg Hobson, Curator of Photographs at the National Media Museum.
