Architect/Designer, Architectural degrees from The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. Corporate Webmaster for Strathclyde university for 6 years. Freelance designer and IT solutions since 2005. Photorealistic 3D modelling for the interior design and KBB sector. Took up photography seriously in 2019 after buying my first decent camera a FujiFilm X-T20 with kit lens which is still my only camera. Have had a few professional shoots. Enough to have covered my investment in the camera. 95% of my shots are taken while travelling, which has been extensive over the last 40 years, but with semi-pro gear only since 2019. My style I’d have to say is Street photography as I love interesting scenes and characters going about their everyday lives. I've never staged an image, ever, so maybe Street veering on Photo-journalism? However, I've had quite a few wildlife trips since 2019, Costa Rica, Borneo and Safari in SA so gaining strength in wildlife/nature photography too. I usually return with at least 1500-2000 distinct images on a typical foreign trip. I don't tend to carry my camera around in the UK unless there's an occasion, like the Tall Ships race or Airshows, that come close to my home. I mostly use aperture priority, exposure compensation and manual focus for 80% of my images. I rarely shoot on burst mode, hardly ever use a tripod or shoot with a flash. I edit in Darktable and have started to develop combo settings that create artistic effects, mainly to mimic coloured pencil sketches at the moment.
