Remember when you drew that picture of a dinosaur in kindergarten and everybody told you how great it was?, I do, and I was hooked by all the positive comments, exaggerated or not. And... Because of this, I spent all of my elementary school years involved in creative arts programs. My elementary school was a K-8th grade and I spent all 9 years there. During my 8th grade graduation, 1976, I was surprised with an award. A "Certificate of Distinction for Outstanding Art" WOW, what a huge pat on the back! This was the first time the school ever considered giving such an award, 19 years running. My freshman year in high school I discovered the art of photography and I fell in love with the whole process of capturing, developing, and printing my own images. I can still smell all those chemicals. My Sophomore year I received my JV letter in football/photography. My letter has a football and a camera on it. A first for that school too. l Stayed with photography all 4 years of high school and spent the next 30+ years in the construction trades with photography as a hobby buying various cameras over the years for photographing the kids & family holidays etc., March of 2009 I decided to see what all the DSLR talk was really all about. I bought my first DSLR (Canon Rebel XT) and it was a passion reignited and then when I started liking my results the addiction was reborn... Hardwired to create, it is truly where my soul belongs.
