My approach is ‘glancing’, as in a ‘glancing blow’ – tangential, oblique. This is ‘found objects and situations’ photography. I photograph things that call out to me, cooperate and collaborate. If a subject is ‘not ready’ I move on as though I have Attention Deficit Disorder. I’m looking for something somewhat elusive. Sometimes I will revisit a scenario but I tend to be ‘unscientific’ about it. The story is before me, moving and then gone – as with the light. I rarely use a tripod because I have to get my images ‘on the hoof’.
