I'm a Kiwi photographer based in the UK. I love travel and landscapes. Every square inch of our planet consists of a landscape. Some are sweeping vistas, while others may consist of a patch of blooms or a view through a forest. All around the world we each wake up to a different landscape. Landscape Photography gives me an opportunity to share our space with others. Please enjoy my work. -- A POLITE NOTE ABOUT HOW I RATE PHOTOS -- Some people have asked me why I rate how I do on Photocrowd and elsewhere. Photocrowd provide a 3 star rating + a flag for not on brief. I believe that a photography competition with peer ratings should be fair and rule abiding. There is no point otherwise, if some folk stick to the rules and other don't. - Not on Brief: If it doesn't meet the brief, it gets flagged, no matter how good the photography is. I will also look for non-obvious messages in the photo to see if it fits. 1* ratings: - A snapshot; you have stood in a place and taken a photo of what is in front of you, with no thought to composition or putting your own artistic spin on it. - You have put in some of your own creativity but technically you have let it down, whether it be focus, exposure, composition etc. - You have killed it with over-processing 2* ratings: - Creative process, you have though about good composition and subject and have technical ability. Let down by some mistakes, be composition or technical - too many mistakes for a 3 star so more work needed. 3* ratings: Technically, composition and artistically sound. There may be some mistakes here, I'm not seeking perfection, but these mistakes are hidden or can be forgiven becasue of other excellent areas including subject matter. WATERMARKS!: I will always rate these as 1 star. Sorry - even if its a fantastic photo, and it saddens me sometimes to do this. I understand the need to protect your copyrights, but this is an ANONYMOUS competition and a watermark gives away who you are.
