John Pickles

I have been a full-time nature and wildlife photographer for the past 17 years. I've photographed in many diverse locations in the USA, Canada and Mexico and made extended trips to other more distant locations such as China, India and Iceland. I won First Grand Prize and Best of Contest placements in the Valley Land Fund and Coastal Bend wildlife photo contests. These are tough, prestigious wildlife photography contests conducted in south Texas. I have led photo tours to Alaska, Iceland, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park and guided photographers on private ranches in south Texas. I am active in the New Orleans, Louisiana, area in several photography-related organizations and recently certified as a Louisiana Master Naturalist. I also conduct photography classes in the New Orleans area. My publishing credits include Nature’s Best, Ranger Rick, My Big Back Yard, Trailer Life, Texas Parks and Wildlife magazines and books produced by the Valley Land Fund and Coastal Bend wildlife photo contest.
