I won my first camera (a Pentax ME) nearly 40 years ago at a motor race meeting at Oulton Park in Cheshire, England. I've been interested in photography ever since and now I have given up the corporate life I have more time to engage in my hobby. I use the Photocrowd contests to make me take different kinds of photos, to get out of my comfort zone. I aim to produce photos that convince me I am improving over time. I aim to please myself but if somebody else likes what I've done it gives me a real boost. I don't spend enough time looking at other photos on here. When I do, I am always in awe at some of the images. And that persuades me to keep on keeping on (as playwright Alan Bennett would say).
