I've always liked photography, and have had lots of cameras (mainly point and shoot) over the years. So my images were snaphots rather than photographs because I grew up in a country village, and wasn't exposed to the intricacies of capturing a decent picture. My first 'proper' camera, was a Nikon F50 DLSR.. My current set up is a Sony Alpha A58 digital camera, with a 18-55mm lens, a 50mm Prime lens, a 55-200 zoom lens and a Tamron 90mm macro lens. I'm now in my 70's and still got a lot to learn.
