If I'm scuba diving, I'm taking a Go Pro Hero 8 with underwater housing and Kraken lights (2) for both still and video. I use filters for depth and a macro lens, but I don't have a strobe setup. For photography days, I use a Sony Alpha 7 iv with a 24mm F2.8 Sony lens. I just have one lens. :-D When traveling above water and with only a backpack, I use my Google Pixel 8 Pro. The telephoto could be better, but the macro is great for the flower/insect shots I am obsessed with and I love that I can photograph in RAW for editing later. For editing, I use GIMP, Final Cut Pro, and Siril (for Astrophotography). I'm an American who's retired abroad and I'm living my best life taking pictures as a hobby. - so everything listed above is my idea of a balance of budget/value in a setup.
