From Central Asia to France, Canada and the United States, I have crossed borders many times and evolved as a photographic artist. In 2015, walking on the streets of New York, I realized that the turbulent energy of the streets needed to be captured and the moments immortalized. I explore the world with my camera. I look for depth, intensity and motion in my images and use different media to enhance and experiment to create mystery. "Deadpan sensual portraiture" is my underlying theme. An infrared camera helps me capture the light we do not see. Platinum printing and mordancage help enhance the photographic message. I create imagery with a surreal spin. The twists I add to portraits are always unpredictable, full of surprises and new discoveries. Photographs must be planned, but as with life, every shot takes twists and turns that cannot be foreseen. Documentary photography keeps me grounded and true to my photographic roots, stimulating me to share captivating visual stories.
