Maria Angelica Garcia is a Colombian-French, Petroleum Engineer, self-taught Photographer, Food Blogger, and Cookbook Author. She decided to move from the corporate world to the Art world, and follow her passions for culinary and photography, she was motivated to level up her photography skills, through practice, reading books, learning composition techniques, and attending workshops with other photographers in the region. In Maria Angelica, food photography work prevails a chiaroscuro style, bold color palette, and sometimes a rustic touch. One of Maria Angelica’s dreams came true on January 2022, she Self-published the cookbook “Healthy Tasty & Easy Breakfast”, a cookbook that conceals her passions for healthy cooking and photography. Maria Angelica is also the founder of Spice up soul a Digital space & Food Blog where she uses her photography skills and personal family experience to create awareness about the importance of pursuing a healthy diet and lifestyle. She shares recipes and tips to prepare easy, fun, and nutritive healthy food for adults and kids. Her images have been published in CQ magazine, and Men’s Health, among others. She received multiple international awards from Foodelia, an international community, and a directory of food photographers. In January 2022, she had the opportunity to share her work among other talented artists of the region in the Open Exhibition The Philosophy of Food, in Tashkeel, Nad Al Sheba. Dubai Gallery & Art Studio. She was an ISTOCK contributor from 2018 to 2019, she currently licenses her work on 500px. When she is not tasting recipes, or shooting in her studio, she explores other genres of photography as landscape and black and White urban photography. In this genre of photography, her style is minimalist, giving relevance to the negative space.
