Marie-Louise Schaefer

I was born to a French father and German mother. I grew up in a family of artists. Painters, Architects and Sculptors. I changed from painting to photography about 20 years ago. I see photography as being very similar to painting. One of many ways to express yourself. I mostly do bird photography, but also black & white Art photography.. For a number of years I published some of my bird photos in what has now become the Birdlife magazine. But stopped when my husband suddenly died in 2013 and I missed the deadline of the magazine. I have not published any bird photos since. I still go out most days to find birds. But at the age of 80 it gets harder to carry a camera and a heavy long lens. I use an old Sony A77V camera , and for birds a Sony 70-400mm G lens. I also love macro photography, using a Sony macro lens. I don’t use any editing program , my photos have to speak for themselves. Photography is all in the eye . The only thing I sometimes do , is a slight crop. That’s about all I want to say. I let my photos speak for me!
