Mark Carrington

I was introduced to photography in elementary school, where I joined the photo club and learned how to work in a darkroom. Later, while serving in the army, I photographed soldiers — capturing quiet moments of connection and camaraderie. After college I became a commercial real estate agent and started photographing my own listings. But it was outside the office — in nature, cities, and unfamiliar countries — that I found my true passion. For me, photography is about quiet observation. Waiting for the light. Returning to the same place again and again until it feels right. Whether I’m framing a sailboat at sunrise, a golden vineyard, or a historic street, I try to stay small — letting the scene speak. My go-to camera is the Leica Q3 but I frequently use a Canon R6 Mk II with a variety of lenses from 14mm to 800mm and a DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone where circumstances require.
