My Grandpa died when I was about 2 years old. He left a vast amount of amazing slides that have inspired me to pick up the camera and capture the world. His photos were amazing, especially his ability to compose. They were a big family and he was able to compose many people into a composition that not many would think of. He loved sunsets and ships and looking at the vast amount of photos he took and slides he created, I imagine he pursued the perfect shot relentlessly. He would also make very sure of the shot he was taking as this was before digital and every developed shot was money out of the pocket. I'm sure I inherited these traits as I've always loved photography too, but never really owned my own camera until a few years ago. When I was younger I would pick up any camera I could find or borrow and snap away. After studying IT, colour theory intrigued me and I progressed into video editing, colour grading, and animation. A few years later I was directing tv commercials and explored all the highly technical video cameras. I still direct quite often but photography has become something of a treat for me. My love for it has grown exponentially and it has made a better director out of me. I'm slowly moving into cinematography as well but photography will always be my joy and pleasure. Not much can beat a perfect frozen moment in time. A moment that has never existed before and will never exist again.
