Rocio Alejandra Garcia Soto’s life and career are a testament to resilience, ambition, and the power of visual storytelling. Born in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, she first honed her passion for architecture before bravely immigrating to the United States in August 1993, determined to pursue an education at a renowned American university. Her journey began with learning English from Level 1 and persevered through years of preparation until she could finally enroll at Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) in 1998. At LAVC, Alejandra not only advanced academically but also uplifted others as a peer mentor, guiding freshmen and sophomores by sharing her struggles and victories. Her unwavering drive led to acceptance into the USC School of Architecture in 2001, where she completed her bachelor's degree in 2006. Along the way, she embarked on a construction internship in 2003, balancing hands-on industry experience with her studies. The compelling images displayed in her gallery are more than memories; they are milestones of a life’s journey defined by learning, adaptation, and the courage to reimagine both self and space.
