My name is Niccolò Baserga, I am 31 years old, and if there is one word that defines my life more than any other it is: curiosity.. I grew up in Italy, with a childhood made of nature, documentaries on animals, big dreams and a sense of wonder towards the world that has never abandoned me. After completing my studies in Agricultural Science and Technology at the University of Milan, I found myself at a crossroads: looking for a path already traced or listening to that voice inside me that pushed me to leave, to discover, to test myself.. At 23, with a backpack on my shoulder and a thousand questions on my head, I left Italy and flew to Australia. What was supposed to be a journey of a few months turned into an eight-year journey, made up of experiences, encounters and profound transformations.. I did everything: manual, seasonal, agricultural work; I reinvented myself as a pizza chef and chef; I was a miner in a marble quarry, I traveled dusty roads and crossed pristine forests. But the constant that began to define my path was photography. At first it was just a way to fix memories, to preserve those moments that would otherwise have vanished. But slowly it became something more: a language, a vocation.. I found that I deeply loved wildlife. Photographing animals is not just a technical question, it is an act of patience, empathy, connection. Every shot is an invitation to slow down, to observe, to respect.
