I am an enthusiast having never been without a camera since i was 12; its been nature, clouds, water, fog, rain, mountains, rivers for the most part, but in recent years has shifted to birds, butterflies, insects, animals; and the other new dimension is Indian architecture and history - temples, monuments - not so much modern architecture; I have also been a late migrator to digital, having used a Yashica Electro 35 for about 3 decades, and occasionally auto cameras that would allow me to do cool things like multiple exposures and capture a drummer in action; Digital makes it so much easier to capture motion; I am fascinated by night photography and how the camera makes darkness come alive where the eyes discern nothing; another area i love is 'shadow photography' - having shadows of trees on the ground, of swaying leaves or prancing birds outside a window; have been able to capture light interference patterns due to a distant bright light and intervening palm leaves that had created tiny slits; I would love to explore aerial photography via a drone camera, and prior to drones had contemplated kite mounted cameras; I love to photograph in flights and almost always am in awe of the sights - reflections of moon or sun on water bodies, meandering rivers, ice and snow, patterns of waves in seas, tiny ships, beautiful islands, and the sheer scale of clouds , often layered over 6-7 levels; I rarely photograph in fully automatic mode and in 35-55mm focus range; typically i am zoomed in or in wide angle/macro mode. I prefer not to use a flash;
