Peter Gilbert

I started messing around with photography when I was 12, going on to equip my own darkroom and eventually taking on that unmistakeable smell of developer and fixing solution, which alas is missing from my efforts today. I ended up running the school camera club, (Maidstone Grammar School for any 'Old Maidstonians' out there.), and was the photographic editor of the school magazine. From there I went on to manage a photographic shop, combining it with wedding photography at the weekends! Like the 'smell', that camera shop has long since gone but my passion for photography remains. I resisted the 'lure' of digital for some time but I eventually parted company with my faithful Canon 35mm equipment in order to make the change. My main passion is landscape photography, having been inspired at an early age by the likes of Ansel Adams and Julia Margaret Cameron. I sell canvases through a local garden centre and my website and am always looking for new and different images.
