I’ve been close to photography all my life. My father was a keen photographer shooting both stills and 16mm cine, so I was always surrounded by the paraphernalia of photography. He bought me my first camera when I was about 10 years old - a second-hand Agfa 127 roll film for £5. With only 8 shots per film, it was certainly a case of ‘think carefully before you press the shutter’! By the time I reached my teens I had built a darkroom at home and was processing and printing my own black and white films. This was followed by a period of photography training which was an integral part of my Graphic Design degree. I was fortunate enough to be tutored for some of that time by Iain MacMillan of Abbey Road fame. Now a firm convert to digital photography I love to photograph the landscapes and seascapes of North Wales. However, shooting subjects that are varied and new is an inspiring way to develop fresh skills and techniques!
