Great contest!

The image is perfect for me in terms of colour tones and textures. The smooth surface of the water contrasts with the gritty look of the submarines. The dark and medium tones are complemented by the beautiful soft fading mountains on the left of the background. The subject of the image is interesting and one wonders about the past. The whole scene is really well framed too.

Your image brings me back to my first visit to Tirana in the year 200. I love the way you have framed the wheel and created the opportunity for the reflection in the water. I also think the image works well in black and white, and helps create the nostalgic feel . The stone edging on the water also helps to frame the reflection and divide the image for the eye. I really like it.

Great capture of Skanderbeg Square at night. Love the nighjt lights, the reflections, the silhouetted people dwarfed against the buildings and the the colours in the image. Not always to get such a striking image at nighttime. Could be a postcard for the city. Really well done.

What a view! What a capture! I love this picture! Those fluffy white clouds in the blue, the stunning mountains, the different shades of green vegetation and the shapes it makes on the left of the image, the little wooden fences and of course the chicken house.

Love the texture the shadows in this picture. I can almost feel the roughness of those stones. The angle at which the picture is taken works well I think. I also like that it is monochrome as this is perfect for the subject.

Wow, what a beautiful mix of pinks, mauves and purples! I just love the colours here and the subtle outline of the hills beyond the water. The image works well in terms of horizontal segments that complement each other. Great job!

I also love the colours in the sky and the positioning of the minaret in the frame. The angle at which you took the picture works so well with the roof in the foreground. The eye travels all the way out, past the minaret and the rocky slopes to where the beautiful sky meets the landscape in the distance. The tower on the right adds balance and interest too.

What a fabulous image! The framing is fantastic, so interesting. Both the fighter plane, with all its gritty detail, and the scene beyond would have been interesting captures on their own, but positioned like this gives a stunning result. I wonder about the pilot. Who he was and what his experience was.

Great capture of the square! Love the angle and composition. The frame has four segments that work well together fanning out from the right. The tiles at the botton, the wet reflection area, the buildings and the sky. This gives the image depth and composition helps convey the size of that square.. The man and the birds add interest to the scene and the flag adds a pop of colour.

What a great capture. Those three animals were very obliging in how they lined up and all put their heads down to eat! The foreground, trees, mountains, clouds and sky form perfectly complementary horizontal areas and the animals are perfect to set off the scene. I like the subtle and soft colours.

Gosh this is an interesting picture. I absolutely love the symmetry, the colours, the textures. It is really well framed. The whole image is full of interesting detail and you have given us a point of view that is perfect from which to explore it. Great job!

Great angle to capture the building and the positioning of the minaret in the frame works very well I think. The angle also helps emphasise the nice contrast between the grey-blue sky and white building The little bit of tree on the right and street furniture help give the scene depth.

I just love your composition, filling the frame like this. Grey is not typically the most valued colour in images but in this image the array of grey roof tiles is striking and beautiful . Well done on a great capture.

What a striking image. I just love the sense of different directions. This image seems to say 'Albania at the crossroads' to me. The people seem to be wondering which way to go. I love the way the colours are mited, with a lot of white and grey and the sky is so atmospheric. Great capture!

What great capture of the Albanian mountains. You certainly were there are the right time of day to get a memorable picture. Obviously the colour in this image is a winner and the shadows in the mountains are great. I might have cropped the sky a bit more and brought in a bit more foreground but this is a personal choice. Well done.

What a wonderful capture. The blue boat stands out so well as the subject of interest and is perfectly placed in the frame. You were just the right distance from it. The angle works really well too, showing how the boat leans to one side. I love the way you have positioned our view of the boat relative to the water and the curve of the shore. The three horizontal sections are perfectly harmonious.

Well you did a pretty good job on your phone on the bus! I love the image and the way you put the rainbow centre stage within that atmospheric sky. The colours are great - yellow/blue combinations always work well I think and the little house or hut is just the thing to have in the foreground. Not sure what the white pile in the foreground is...but I'm sure it has an explanation...

What a great capture of these two Albanian women. This is a scene that will soon exist no more in Albania as this older generation of women pass on. You could possibly have cropped it a bit on both sides, particularly the right. to cut out the grey segment there. But its wonderful! Well done!

Great job of capturing the moon at a strategic angle over the Tirana pyramid. The building is an interesting shape and I think that capturing it in this way at night time is more interesting than a daytime shot might be.

Fantastic example of a reflection in a building. The image also creates, for me, the sense of old and new, tradition and modernity, with the contrast in architectural style, mosque minarets and modern glass building. The squares in the glass and the irregularity of the reflection also add to the sense of old and new coming together in Albania, yet not sitting smoothly together. And I like how you zoomed in and framed the reflection. Nice job!
