This could be from an advert for Christmas on the TV or a fashion campaign. It's beautifully judged and controlled. The composition is perfect as is the use of a shallow depth of field. The magical light and post production techniques are not over the top they just complement the overall feel of what the picture is about. A stunning photograph and the use of black and white so softly done is perfect. It reminds me of the old hollywood Christmas films and I can imagine an open fire in the corner. The expression on the little girls face is of joy and amazement and the clean simple compsoitio is just spot on. The light works well from the tree giving a glow around the girls hair. Such a beautiful portrait of christmas. I can imagine this on the family home wall for years to come. Just lovely.

A really clever photograph of a detail really. The technique is flawless and the exposure is so well controlled with the camera pointing straight into the light. Everthing is so well balanced with no one part of the picture is distracting from the others. In many ways this is the perfect composition. I love the lights and the pop of color from the flower. A nice interpretation of the brief. A wonderful constructed picture.
