An interesting portrait of this cat, great low shooting angle over the puddle, and reminds me of Cartier-Bresson's classic "Derriere La Gare Saint-Lazare". Always rewarding to see creative photography like this shot on a smartphone too.

Wow! What a shot, and so much better for the crisp shadows on the ground, and the human interaction narrative. This is my winning image in this New Joiners 'Animals' contest - congratulations! I would have liked to see a little more space on the right of the image, it feels too tightly cropped relative to the left handside. And the wingtips have a pixelated effect on them which I haven't seen before - maybe a limitation of the phone's technology? - but it remains a really great shot.

Fabulous skill on display here, and impeccable timing. It's worth imagining how fast this bird was travelling when the photographer snapped it in action!
