I love the colours, composition and abstract nature of this image of a male frog guarding his spawn. It's beautifully crafted and also technically brilliant. There were many images of frogs, but this one stood out a mile. A worthy winner, in my opinion.

When I saw the thumbnail of this image I thought we might have a potential winner. I like the composition, subtle colours, energy and minimal background. I would have liked to see a little more clarity and sharpness, which would have really elevated this shot.

I like this image very much. The energy and playfulness of the wild horses has been captured perfectly. And the slightly washed out colours compliment the bleak beauty of the stunning Icelandic landscape. This picture could only have been improved by a slightly lower viewpoint to drop the horizon lower.

I like this classical composition of a young Barbary Macaque. The subtle, pastel colours compliment the gentle nature of the subject matter. I liked this image even more when I read that it was a wild animal and not simply photographed in a zoo or safari park.

This picture made us smile. The backlit lamb is perfectly framed in late afternoon sun. The colours are rich and vibrant. I also like the pool of warm sun flare, which helps make this image both beautiful and amusing at the same time.
