Emotion. It can be a tough thing to portray through an animal's actions. Your photo perfectly does that! The framing helps with really making us feel that the monkey is in jail. The color palette casts a somber tone over the entire scene. You did a fantastic job and deserve first place. Keep up the great work!

In this contest I would love to see your photos of animals showing emotion. You can show any species of animal except humans, expressing any emotion. I am looking forward to seeing all your photos.
Most of the photos I reviewed in this challenge were ones of animals being angry or sad. Yours was one of the very few portraying happiness in an animal. You did a great job of capturing the perfect moment that this fox "smiled"! It's sad that people have fed this animal, because that will probably lead to it's removal. That being said, you did a wonderful job capturing this shot!
There were not a ton of domestic animal pictures in this challenge that showed an animal's feelings very well. Yours was the best of those select few! I really enjoy the depth of field and color scheme. It creates a dreamy environment. The sharpness of the dog really makes it pop. The side eye that all of us dog owners have seen makes it a funny shot. Great job!
Chimpanzees are great at showing their emotion between family members. This shot is a beautiful one that allows the viewer to create their own story about it. The exposure and black and white filter work great together. IF the aperture had been a little higher, then I think this photo would be absolutely perfect! Even with that aside, this is a beautiful photo, and you should be proud.
