Astrophotography

This image is really beautiful. I really appreciate the work that goes into a shot like this, I don't have the patience or skill for it! The colours are lovely and it's processed really well. The lone figure (I assume it's you) looks great and really anchors the composition.

This is pretty spectacular, and a pretty easy choice for number one. How can it be that this like this exist and look so beautiful. This is such a pretty image, and obviously a lot of work has gone into capturing it so I really appreciate the effort and work put in. Well done.

This is a beautiful photo, I love the composition, its not easy to get it so right in the dark but you've done a fantastic job here. You haven't overprocessed the milky way either which makes it look all the sweeter!

I like panoramic image like this, I appreciate the skill that goes into producing such a shot. Especially somewhere like La Palma where the skies are so dark. The foreground looks great in this, some people underestimate the power of a strong foreground but I'm glad you're not one of them!

I love this, I think the fact that there's a near perfect reflection just makes this so much nicer than a lot of the other Aurora shots that have been entered. It's exposed nicely, composition is strong and it's lovely and sharp. Well done!

I love this, it's such a cool photo!! I imagine it's a composite with a shot for the sky and one for the foreground as the depth of field is massive. I think with astrophotography a strong foreground is a must and this just looks insane. Thank you for entering this, it's really beautiful.

This is such a captivating photo, I love the blue monotone colours and the way the dark boat draws your eyes in. The milky way looks amazing, I like that you've decided to process this as one colour as there's no distractions.

I've been lucky enough to see the northern lights here, and it's as spectacular as this photo shows. It's nice to see a shot that's not massively over processed too, we see so many shots from Lofoten that have the mountains stretched and the lights made to look unnatural that it's good to see one that shows it off as it is.

I've only ever been here at night 2 times and both times we had mega clear skies to see the milky way. It's a really special place to look at the night sky. I love the way you've composed this to include the Locatelli hut, and you've done a great job of containing the highlights.

I like this as it's so different to anything else entered. The milky way shining through the canopy really looks amazing, and the fact that you've incorporated it into a really strong composition is a real strong point. Knowing that you've composed this in near pitch black is really impressive too!

I like this because it's different. Its not like most of the other astro shots entered but it's a really pretty shot. I remember watching an eclipse years ago and taking a similar shot, albeit yours is nicer. Its conposed well too for a relatively simple shot.
