We spend a lot of our lives at work, but it is an aspect of our lives not photographed nearly as much as the time spent out of work. The world of work is a fantastic opportunity for documentary and portrait photography, and if you’re looking for inspiration then you could do worse than checking out the <a href="https://jacobin.com/2021/06/lewis-hine-photography-american-working-class-depression-wpa-new-deal-artist">photography of Lewis Hine</a>, who documented the American working class at the turn of the 20th century, and was instrumental in bringing the issue of child labour to greater prominence.
