Autumn colours

One of many squirrel pictures in this round but one that really stood out from the crowd. The direct composition of the squirrel facing the camera against a well-blurred background shouts autumn. The focusing is perfect along with the pose and expression.

This beautiful image conveys calm with the yellow tinge to the leaves and the smooth, scenic water. The careful composition and the depth of field control keep the solitary foreground tree in context while not mixing with the background detail.

This long exposure shot balances subtle movement in the water and sky perfectly without going over the top. The touch of sun on the background hill, the golden glow of the autumn sun and the colour in the sky really set this image apart.

It's the colours more than anything that make this image out. The petrol blue of the water, vivid pinks of the lily and the subtle beige of the oak leaf floating nearby have this image different from everything else submitted.
