A really lovely image and almost made my top 10. I like the way the eye is taken down the sandy path along this rustic fences toward the shoreline. Your slower exposure has brought out some nice movement in the clouds along with some lovely texture. What took this lovely image outside of my top 10 is the distraction of the wooden structure on the right. Personally I would have cropped that structure out and I think that would have enhanced this beautifully peaceful image, Lovely work and good luck with future competition entries.

I love this composition, posing your granddaughters in the wall is a wonderful idea. The light giving them beautiful halo's and although having two people in the picture breaks one of the rules of composition, because you've balanced the image out with your symmetrical pose and the setting sun between them it works wonderfully. The other thing I really like about this shot is the amount of colour you have got in the shot, which is just what I was looking for when I set the competition. My only criticism if I have any is the area where the sun is is burnt out, although I appears you have taken the shot with your phone or a point and shoot camera so may not have had the control that a DSLR or modern mirrorless camera has. That said this is a superb image. Thank you for entering and showing us your work.

I really like your image, for me has everything I asked for when I set the competition. Your low point of view with a focal point on that shell ? (Sorry not quite sure what it is) take the eye and then the use of the glowing reflection of the sun to take the eye along the beach and through the sea to the horizon really works well, the boats are a real bonus. Then the colours and texture of the sky really make this a beautiful image. Thank you for entering and showing us your amazing work.

Beautiful image, the ruins of the old pier pull the eye up from the beach into that incredible colourful sunset. I like the way your slower exposure blends the suns glowing rays across the sea and extend those stunning clouds. Thank you for your entry, your image is just what I was hoping for when I thought of the competition. Well done on your second place.

I love sunsets and can never get enough of them, but for me the best of them always seem to be at the beach. Because of the light and clarity, sunsets at the seaside always seem to have colour and a vividness that other sunsets rarely have. So I would like to see your photos of beach sunsets, in colour only, and the main focus of the image should be the beach, the sea and the sunset.

Terrific composition, gorgeous pastel colours give your image a wonderfully peaceful feeling. That wet rock anchors the image, but as the eye moves around picking up those softly crashing waves enhanced by the slower exposure and what appears to be timbers showing above the waves from what seems to be the remains of an old pier. Great work capturing what looks like the perfect end to a day. Thank you for entering the competition, sharing your work and congratulations on your placing.
