Thank you for entering this image.
There were a lot of "big stopper" images in this competition. All but this one were exactly the same. You said something different here, and you created a unique mood with your long exposure.
You did not expose too hot, so while it goes white there is no detail lost.
Most of all, you put the camera in EXACTLY the right place. I often tell people when judging how hard single pint is, and I try and tell them how to do better. You NAILED SPP here!

Wow what a cool piece! Thanks for entering..
The composition is great, love the leading lines. I saw a lot of pictures of this place in the contest, and this was my favorite. I hesitate to tell you this, but in my first cut for the top ten, this image placed first...
Then I saw the people on the beach on the left. At this level, to win, you have to have a perfect image. Those people are too much of a distraction. And so easily removed.
I really think this is a great image, and could be even better with some more editing.

There were a few images of this lighthouse entered in the contest. WHat sets this one apart is the wonderful light you caught when you were there.
I like that you did not go full "big stopper" on this, and left siome definition in the water rather than a "milked out" all white sea.
Probably a tough edit I bet. You pulled it off well. Color and saturation look great, just the right amount of detail.

Hello! Thank you so much for entering the contest.
I REALLY like this image. I think you have a great eye spotting this. However, I think it could be better. If you don't mind, I am going to make a couple observations that I think would make this a better image.
The basis of this image is what we can single point. That is, all lines disappear to a single point. This can be a very strong powerful image if done right. But it is very hard to get right, and does take a lot of work to get right.
To be sure, you DID get a single point. But where is your point? Its down the right side of the shadows of the second row of umbrellas. Is that the STRONGEST line? I would say no.
Move to your left (for a couple reasons, Il;l explain in a bit). Line up the poles of the umbrellas dead center and make that your line.
Conversely, you could make your line negative space, by making the sand "line" between the umbrellas your line. Either one I think would make a better composition.
Other problems i see. If you are going for a regular, repeating pattern image, you dont want interruptions in that pattern (unless you do!).
To my eye, the life guard stand and lounge chair to the right interrupt that pattern and ruin the image.... so that is why I I said move left. Get rid of that!
Now the man walking to the left. This WOULD make a good interruption. He would really draw the eye, dont you think? But you'd have to place that person in the negative space of the sand I think to make it work. Having the person semi-obscured by the pole does not look all that good.
Or remove the person altogether.
So there you are, a couple ideas to try and make this better. I hope this helps!
