A carefully constructed beach image in an impressionistic style. The well defined cabane is placed at the rule of thirds with the red and white wheel echoing the shape and color of the umbrellas. The sky is loosely defined, also in a circular shape which is repeated in the drifted sand around the wheel. The light source from behind the cabane is very effective.The beach has a surreal feel with no beachgoers and we are drawn into the scene by the lighting and the space.. The image has a dreamlike quality. Congratulations on being my number one selection..
A bright and well balanced impression of a beach. The golden sands are complimentary with the blue tones of the low tide. The natural shapes of the foreground followed by the 'S' shape of the blue water is an excellent composition. The birds exiting the image at the tail of the 'S' gives a greater depth to the image and the little splash of red figures complete a great beach impression. Well done and congratulations on being in my top ten selection.

This is a true impressionist photo. I can imagine an artist at the beach completing this "painting" The figures are loosely defined and well balanced. We are invited to follow the dark patch of sand around to the sea. The movement of the flags suggest a breezy day. All conveyed in a nice impressionist style. A beach photo transformed into a very impressionistic painting. Good separation between the beach, sea and sky. The mere hint of the two indistinct figures provide a focal point and a small dash of colour. The clouds and beach have both warm a cool tints making a well rounded image. For this contest I would like to see your beach photos transformed into a painterly, impressionistic style. You may use any software of your choice. Your photos will give an impression rather than an accurate depiction of the beach scene. Your image may include anything that may be found at a beach, for example people, animals, umbrellas, deckchairs or just an empty beach. Get creative and I hope you enjoy the contest.
A very textured impasto image of bathers. The bathers are painted in a different style so that they are identifiable. The small patches of colour make a good focal point. It initially appears as a very flat painting but like a lot of impressionist paintings is best viewed from a distance where the gradual changes of tone form a greater contrast.Well done and congratulations in being in my top ten.
