This really made me sit up and take notice. I can almost feel the threat as the enemy comes terrifyingly close. Well done for capturing the two aircraft at that angle and managing to convey the apprehension the lead pilot probably would undoubtedly have felt in a real situation. Congratulations on gaining second place in this contest.
A classic shot of aircraft peeling off into a dive. You have captured the break in level-flight formation beautifully - the spacing between the aircraft is perfect. I'm sure that the colour version of this image was impressive, but the monochrome treatment, along with the exceptional clarity has lifted the image to a new level. Well done and congratulations on achieving fourth place in this contest.
I really like the emotion in this image as the lone aircraft flies off into the sunset. I can imagine all sorts of scenarios that preceded this flight. A romantic liaison on the ground perhaps, or maybe the pilot is struggling to get home after a hard-fought battle. You really have caught the subject at the opportune moment and placed it perfectly in the frame. Well done. Many congratulations on a well-deserved win in this contest.

I would like to see your photos of biplanes and triplanes. Biplanes are fixed-wing aircraft with two pairs of wings, usually stacked one pair above another. Similarly, triplanes have three sets of wings arranged in the same way. Images can show these now largely-obsolete military or civil aircraft either on the ground or in the air. I will also be happy to see pictures of those odd aircraft with more than three sets of wings but no monoplanes or rotary wing aircraft please. Photos can be either in colour or monochrome. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
