Birds in Flight

This is an amazing capture of the female cardinal. The soft pink colours of the bird against the dark black background grab your attention straight away. The photographer capturing it in detail and pin sharp is awesome. Clear winner for me and thank you for entering.

Out of all the kingfisher shots that entered I found this one pleased me the most. With the detail in the chest feathers, the wingspan and the water droplets. a perfect capture at the right moment. Thank you for entering

This is another stunning shot of an amazing bird. How do these birds actually get of the ground/water. Love the reflection of the giant bird in the soft pastel colours of the water and the capture of the detail of the bird and the water droplets dripping off it. Thank you for entering

For me this shot might not be technically brilliant or the best but it hits the right marks. I love the High Key element of this. The white wings against the white background make it look innocent. Thank you for entering

This was my favourite bird of prey entry. definitely a wild bird in this shot. it's the detail in the feathers and the capture in the talons that got me hooked on this one. The soft golden light coming in through the wing tips is another great feature in the shot. Thank you for entering.
