Birds Putting on a Show (Mating Dance)

So much of this photo stood out to me to become my top photo. Your lighting is impeccable and fits the colors and the mood of the scene. The sun's halo around the what I assume is the males head and white feathers adds to the photos beauty. Outstanding image and congratulations on first place.

While there were many peacock photos entered into this contest your close up perspective of the peacock and the coloring really caught my eye. I love the symmetry going on here and the close up view let's you focus on the important parts of the photo. It doesn't let your eye wander.

Along with peacocks and grebes I looked through many photos of gannets and your photos showing off not just the gannets but also their environment really pushed it above the others. It is a well exposed sharp photo with colors that go really well together. All these things combined made this my favorites photo of gannets.

Your photos of these two terns practically screams graceful. I love seeing the interactions between these two birds mid-flight and I can only image how hard it was to capture. The only reason you didn't get into my top 10 is that it looks like you had to crop this photo quite a lot and ended up sacrificing the quality of the photo. A wonderful moment in time nonetheless.
