Black Animals

This is such an excellent portrait of a difficult species to capture. I've spent time with turkey vultures and they can be quite skittish. The green background adds rich color which complements the red of the bird's face. The pose you've chosen of the subject highlights the dark ruff of feathers around his head. Definitely one of the best vulture portraits I've seen, and such an under represented and under appreciated species!

Exposing for the highlights on this image turned out quite spectacular and elevates this image above others of similar species. The golden feathers stand out from the black with a variety of alluring textures. I think the composition is my favorite part of this image and is perfect to highlight the best features of this species.

I absolutely love this photo of this chunky beetle, and I like the white acrylic setting you have chosen. The lighting is superb and the composition is excellent as well. I really enjoy images that showcase subjects not commonly seen or appreciated in high resolution.
