Black

A great use of the light in this photo to highlight the silhouetted couple in this photo. I love the scale of this photo, and it has used blacks throughout the image very nicely. Well done on a worthy winning photo.

Excellent control of the light on these two black swans, and they make a great choice for this competition. The balance from left to right is well handled, those swans could not have been better placed in the composition. Good work on ensuring they're both nice and sharp as well.

A really striking image, the models face has been framed perfectly with the head robe. I really like the eye contact, it really pulls you into the frame. The image is tight, and really well done. The negative space the black provides is well handled as well, with the subtle textures of that robe.

Great photo, and the best landscape image in this competition. Great use of a lower point of view to create real drama in this photo. The rocks are really well captured with all that detail, and of course the misty effect from long exposure works a treat. Excellent photo, well done.

Very nice photo of this dog, and very close to the top 100 in this competition. A little fill light on the right would help this image, as the shadow cutting across the dogs right hand eye (left as we look at it) doesn't help this image. I do like the minimalism though, and the use of side light on the right hand side of this image works very well. A good lo-key photo.
