In this Canon-only contest we want to see your best photographs that fit our theme ‘bokeh’. Bokeh is the name given to those generally circular out of focus highlights that are considered to very pleasing in photography. This means we’re looking for shots taken with a shallow depth of field, where your subject is sharp but a wide aperture has been used to turn the background into a beautiful blur. For even more ‘bokeh’ in your photos be sure to consider backgrounds with plenty of specular highlights, such as fairy lights or street lights as these can be turned into bokeh. The judge's top picks will appear in PhotoPlus magazine with our judge's top choice taking home a Joby GorillaPod 3K tripod and ball head kit.

DO: Ensure your photo was taken on a Canon camera. Have EXIF data in your photo (or supply the camera settings in the info section). Provide a title for your photo. Write a description of the photo you're entering of at least 50 words to give us the background of what the image is of and how it was taken. A little context can go a long way! Check your photo has a resolution of at least 3000 pixels on the longest edge of the photo as we will be printing our top picks in PhotoPlus: the Canon magazine.
