Bokeh

Brief

Bokeh is described as being "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light". Essentially, it's an aesthetic quality whereby parts of a photo are out of focus and blurred, and can be achieved by using a shallow focus to narrow the depth of field and create prominent, out of focus regions within the image.
