A shot I have judged previously and which I still very much like. The overall simplicity and starkness is absolutely spot on and raises some potentially interesting questions on the reasons behind this composition and what the story might be. More of this kind of thing please....well done and my thanks - again - for this entry.
A simple shot of, what I assume to be, an imaginative and intriguing arrangement of books in the window of a shop or library. It's the processing of this shot that does it for me - simple but effective with a nice 'retro' feel to it...always trying to keep things simple is a lesson more of us need to be mindful of...in my humble opinion. Very nice and top marks on said processing!
Another refreshing break from what some would consider the norm for pictures of books. An open book, on a chair, with a nice motion blur on the turning pages being achieved with a slower shutter speed. I also like the fact the book is framed rather nicely by the warmer tones of the chair frame with the soft focus adding a nice overall touch to proceedings. Very nice and my thanks for your entry.
A very simple but pleasing shot that I instantly liked...and for that very reason. No frills here or hours spent in post-processing - just a simple shot of a book. This image might be considered by some to be a little dull, given the relative lack of colour and muted white tones, but I think what little colour there is - contained within the books' covers - punctuates this shot perfectly. I like it and my thanks for your entry.
A shot that narrowly missed out on my top 10. It works absolutely perfectly in black and white with the high levels of contrast serving the subject matter very well indeed....and all topped off - of course - with that well- manicured hand just clasping the page there. Once again, keeping it simple and very effective. Well done.
What an intriguing and interesting take on a picture of a book - and yet another captivating departure from what some would consider the norm - books stacked on a bookshelf. Proportionately I think it's perfect and I love the high degree of contrast here along with the darker gaps of varying sizes between the pages. Well done and my congratulations on your winning entry.

Let me see your photos that focus on books. Books should be the focus of your photo so please, no wider shots that just happen to contain books. I very much look forward to seeing and judging your entries.
