A worthy 2nd place has been awarded to this photograph. The time and effort that has been taken to plan and execute this image is clear. Not only have they got the bridge in all it’s glory but they have also factored in getting a crisp image of the galactic centre of the Milky Way. Astrophotography is difficult at the best of times let alone getting this bridge. The bridge still remains the focal point though and the Milky Way adds to the image not detracts from it which is pretty impressive too.

This is a very crisp focus of the bridge but unfortunately compositionally I think it could have been better. The issue is the foreground, it detracts from the main subject - the bridge. Utilise cropping tools to help with the composition, had it been better cropped I think this could have made it in to the commended section of the competition
I am loving the colours captured here, but this competition is about bridges and not waterfalls. In my opinion the waterfall detracts from the bridge, the subject focus to be in with a chance in this competition needed to be the bridge itself. It is however a great landscape shot, but I would have chosen the waterfall over the bridge to be the subject in this photograph.

***This contest is open to subscribers (members on the Challenger, Pro and Master subscription tiers). However if you're not a paying subscriber you can still purchase entries for £2 (GBP) per image.*** Bridges can be spectacular subjects as well as useful compositional tools, if you know how to shoot them. Deciding whether to make the bridge and its infrastructure the primary focus or bringing in background and setting for a more rounded scene is up to you. The truth is, there are so many different sides to bridges, and so many different perspectives to approach them from - so don't feel a need to play it safe. Enjoy!
