Close up or macro photography in practice is quite difficult to achieve without the use of either focus stacking or a macro lens. In this competition I was looking for three things.. Good use of depth of field with the whole of the subject in focus. A sharp image and finally.; a nicely composed image with a good balance between subject foreground and background.. In my opinion I feel that this image has achieved all of these.

This contest is for your very best colour photos of a bumblebee. Close-up and macro images are acceptable, with the bumblebees in flight or collecting nectar on flowers. I am looking for good composition, sharp detail with pleasing depth of field (bokeh). Colour images only please.
