The quality of the 'Butterflies and Moths' category made it particularly difficult to judge, but this full spectrum image of a Swallowtail stood out. One of the most beautiful British butterfly species, it's a captivating image, with wing scales well visible, excellent use of light and strong composition. The background creates wonderful separation and the color accentuates the subject. The use of full spectrum gives the image an ethereal feeling.
