This image perfectly sums up the contest theme 'By train' for me. It's an epic scene where it's hard to be sure exactly how many trains there are, so surrounded and covered by people as they are. You chose a great Point of View that clearly shows the size of crowd and the trains. With so many people and lots of bright colours this image could have been difficult for the viewer to take in. The centrally located flag gives the eye a great focal point. Your choice of aperture is a good one as the scene becomes progressively less sharp with distance from the camera emphasising the depth of the image. Congratulations on winning the 'By train' contest.
A rather different type of train but an iconic one, which is nicely captured in this image. The modern glass fronted carriage allows us to see that passengers are being carried 'By train', whilst the passengers on the platforms have either travelled or are waiting to travel 'By train'. You have dealt with the potentially distracting reflections and variable lighting conditions really well. Congratulations on gaining 5th place in the 'By train' contest.
A lovely humorous image that nevertheless expresses the theme 'By train'. Every time I look at the image it makes me smile. It's very nicely photographed with a good colour balance. The white lamp makes for a good supporting cast but teddy is still very much the star of the show. Congratulations on gaining 10th place in the 'By train' contest.
This image emotionally resonated with me as like the subject I too was fascinated by trains from an early age. You have caught the expression of the subject really well. I like the composition of the image with its clear focus on the subject whilst still making it obvious that this is a railway setting. The image is nicely lit and perfectly processed. Congratulations on gaining 3rd place in the 'By train' contest.
Freight was the reason a great many railways were built and the mainstay of many lines around the world. This is a lovely image showing freight being moved 'by train' through the scenic grandeur of the Canadian Rockies. The Point of View is well chosen and emphasises the length of the train as it snakes around the curve, and the train makes for a nice leading line towards the mid and background parts of the image. Congratulations on gaining 9th place in the 'By train' contest.
There were of course many entries based on re-enactments and all of a high standard. However this was the one that stood out most for me as epitomising the theme 'By train'. It's a very well composed image and beautifully executed. The balance between light and shadows is excellent, as is the processing. Congratulations on gaining 2nd place in the 'By train' contest.
Only 'By train' could a family attempt to move this amount of luggage in many parts of the world. It's an image with a story, though a story that we know only partially. I like the square crop as it concentrates the viewers attention very well. The image is neatly composed with a good exposure. Congratulations on gaining 4th place in the 'By train' contest.

A nicely rendered image of the experience of travelling 'by train' in many parts of Europe. I liked the balance of the image between the young woman and the scenery outside. There is a good sense of the movement of the train immediately outside the window. I liked the natural lighting and you have managed to avoid the reflections in the window from becoming too dominant. Congratulations on gaining 8th place in the 'By train' contest.
